Work Insertion project in Adeje (Tenerife) receives almost 300 immigrant participants
A total of 285 immigrants participated in the third edition of the Arona’s Immigrants Work Insertion project (ILIA), promoted by the Arona’s Economic and Job Promotion council office together with the Canarias’ Government Social Welfare and Migration vice-council office.
The closure of this program took place at the community center of Cabo Blanco, presided by the major and the council in charge of the area, José Alberto González Reverón and Dácil García Marcelino respectively, who highlighted the importance of these kind of initiatives in today’s society “because during a crisis period, the immigrant community is the one that come off worst” informed the council in a communiqué.
ILIA’s project has been developed for four months, with the goal of making the work insertion of the Arona’s immigrant residents easier though the development of educational courses. In that respect, the council authorities pointed out that “the social integration is not effective if there isn’t work insertion that provides dignity to the immigrants and their families”.
Likewise, García Marcelino explained that “the center of this project is focused in the promotion of active participation, education, information and advising, as fundamental factors for the work insertion of the immigrants who live in this municipality”. For this purpose, 18 educational actions have been developed.
