Tourist information offices in Arona (Tenerife) receive more than 44,000 consults
The tourist information offices of Arona, had 44,011 tourists’ consults during the first quarter of this year, according to the statistic study made by the Tourist Association of the Arona’s Council, which is directed by Angel David Herrera.
A total of 32,988 tourists consulted these tourist information offices, being almost 90% of them international visitors. Herrera highlighted that the United Kingdom is still the issuer country of the majority of the tourists that come to the island (45.40%), followed by Germany (16.03%), and northern countries (4.94%).
The councilman also said that in relation with year 2009, the numbers reflect an increase in the Spanish tourists and the Scandinavian tourists who choose Arona as their holydays destination every year.
The Tourist Information office at “Playa de las Vistas” is the one which had more visitors in this first quarter of the year, who requested information about tourist maps, leisure offer, road transportation, and municipality’s tourist offer.
Finally, Angel David Herrera reminded that these days the Tourist Information office at “Playa de las Américas” is under remodelling works to fulfil the regulations of the “Q” of Tourist Quality after its appointment received last May, and he highlighted that Arona “is the only municipality in Canarias that counts with two awards of this kind, because the “Q” of Tourist Quality has been given to “Playa de las Américas” and “Las Galletas”.
