The Minister of Tourism of Gambia is visiting Canarias to know the development of this sector

The Minister of Tourism and Culture of Gambia, Fatou Massa Jobe-Njie, is arriving to Canarias this week to get informed about the development of the tourist industry in the archipelago. The Minister will be accompanied by the Ambassador of Gambia in Spain, Kebba S. Touray, the secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Dawda Fadera, and the director of the Gambia Civil Aviation Authority, Fansu Bojang, the representative of the Gambia Investment Promotion Agency, Fatau Benga Jallow, and the representative of the Gambia Tourism Authority, Binta Jobe, together with the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Gambia, Bai Matar Drommeh.

This visit is organized by the government of Canarias through “Proexca” and the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas. The meetings will begin in Gran Canaria on June 29th in the morning at the head office “Proexca”, where the delegation will be received by the representative of this public promotion entity, Javier Mariscal.

The agenda includes meetings with the Association of Contractors and Promotion Businessmen of Las Palmas, and the Hospitality & Tourism and Spa & Wellness Industry Federation.

After these first meetings, the Gambian delegation will be received by Pilar Alcaide, chief director of the Chamber of Commerce of Las Palmas, and Begoña Cañete, director of the Internationalizing Department.

Before the lunch at the head office of “Casa Africa” in Gran Canaria, there will be a meeting with “Promotur Canarias”. Following, the delegation will visit different regions of the island to see the hostelry complexes and the leisure offer.

30th of June, in Tenerife

The 30th of June, the delegation of Gambia was received in Tenerife by the Councillor of Tourism to Canarias, and they will have a meeting with the president and members of the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Later, at the head office of “Proexca” in Tenerife, the delegation will have a series of meetings with representatives of Ashotel, Fepeco, the Promotion Association of Tenerife, Hecansa, Ricam and Femete.

Pablo Martín Carbajal, chief director of the Africa Affairs Department to the Government of Canarias, hosted the lunch in honour of this delegation. After that, the Gambia Minister of Tourism together with the delegation of this country will visit the Technology and Renewable Energies Institute (ITER), finalizing their agenda with a meeting with Milagros Luis Brito, regional Councillor of Education, Universities, Culture and Sports.
