The seaside resort Playa de las Américas, will count with a subterranean parking at the Las Madrigueras area, next to the present vehicles parking. This initiative was approved by the Plenary of the Arona’s Council.

The development will be situated in a 20,000-square-meters plot, and the construction works will be in charge of Explotaciones Las Magrigueras S.L. which will also have the administrative concession of the project. The subterranean parking will have room for almost one thousand vehicles on one single floor. From the total places, 224 will be assigned to the municipality for the tow truck service, and more than sixty will be given to the municipality for they usage free of charge. The rest of the parking area, about 700 park spaces, will be rotary and some of them will be sold.

Likewise, above the subterranean parking, at the street level, it will be constructed a park with green areas, children playground, and a kiosk. The budget for this project is 6.5 million euros approximately, and the project time-frame will be about 20 months. The concession of this development is for 40 years.

Arona’s major, José Alberto González Reverón, outlined that “this development is intended to improve citizens’ quality of life”. “This subterranean parking will provide more parking area to this seaside resort while at the street level we will continue with the creation of new green areas and walkways”, he said.

The major added that this new subterranean parking at ‘Playa de las Américas’ is located in a strategic area, being near the Olympic stadium, a hospital, and the courthouse of Arona.

Education – Plot for another public day-care center

The third public day-care center is under way and the Arona’s Council Plenary took another step forward in this respect. Therefore, the local corporation approved unanimously the destination of a plot located in the eastern area of Los Eres, in the seaside resort called Los Cristianos for this purpose. The present sports equipment facility will be an educative center with the construction of the new public day-care center.

Services – Public Areas’ cleaning

The cleaning service of educative and public centers of the Arona’s municipality was awarded yesterday to Ralons Servicios, which will start working the 10^thof May. The new concessionaire has a four-year contract which is extendible for two more years, and it will continue with the services provided previously by Clusa. This service will cost to the municipality 6.5 million euros for the entire period of the concession receiving a unanimous approval.
